‘Sister Wives’ Star Meri Brown Slams Ex Kody for ‘Disgusting’ Confession.
Meri Brown is coming down on her ex-husband Kody after he made a “disgusting” suggestion about their relationship post-divorce.
Meri was Kody’s first wife, and the two were together for 32 years—welcoming one child together—before they announced their separation in January 2023. Though the couple legally divorced in 2014 (so Kody could legally marry his fourth wife, Robyn, and adopt her three kids), the former couple remained “spiritually married” until last year.
Meri, 53, previously hinted that she wouldn’t give Kody any passes for out-of-line comments. Previously, she called him out in an episode a few weeks ago, declaring, “I don’t know why I go out of my way to be nice when he so flippantly and comfortably talks s–t about me.”
Then, in the Dec. 29 episode of Sister Wives, fans watched as Meri slammed her ex-husband’s recent confessional in which he suggested their 2014 legal divorce was “just shuffling legal paperwork.”
Kody claimed, “Meri and I, after that divorce, left Robyn and went to dinner together. I gave her a special ring and we probably went home and made love.”
That’s not what Meri recalled happening. In fact, she declared, “It’s kind of disgusting that he would bring up a potentially intimate moment with somebody that he’s divorced from,” she said in a confessional as first transcribed by E! News. “I can guaran-damn-tee you that he would never talk about those moments in this setting with his wife.”
She added, “Kody and I were not in the kind of relationship at that time that we would be doing those kinds of things anyway.”
“When Kody and I got the legal divorce, it was something that we had talked about together for years, but at the time that it actually happened, I was the one who made that move and went to go talk to the lawyer first because I was just in a place of let’s just do it, let’s just rip the Band-Aid off, let’s just get it done,” Meri further explained in the Dec. 29 episode.
She continued, “I kept thinking, if we can wait until our relationship is stronger, then I’ll feel better about doing it and I’ll feel more confident and I’ll feel more secure in our relationship. But that was never going to happen, obviously.”
Some of Kody’s other wives apparently felt similarly, as his relationship with Robyn is the only one standing. Kody’s second wife, Janelle, and his third wife, Christine, divorced him as well. Christine later married David Woolley in October 2023, and Meri is now dating someone new.
