Leon Brown Faces Backlash After Setting Boundaries With Fans: “Please Stop Coming Up to Say Hello” 😳💥
Sister Wives alum Leon Brown, the only child of Kody Brown and Meri Brown, was called out after sharing a TikTok video that some followers called “hypocritical.”
“I grew up in a cult and then on TV when I was 14. And I’ve been trying to share my story,” Leon, 30, shared on Wednesday, June 24. “I posted a video a few weeks ago just expressing my desire to share my own story, before I do that I want to set some boundaries.”
Leon — who goes by they/them pronouns — continued, “To start, I have gotten some comments, sort of pushy comments, being like, ‘When are you going to post this?’ I just want to make it clear — no one is entitled to my story.
No one is entitled to my time. Anything I share is something I want to share. I’m doing this on my own timeline.”
Leon went on to express that they are uncomfortable when fans of the TLC series approach them in public. “I’m not out in public to be people’s entertainment, or to be consumed by people. I’m out in public to live my life,” they added. “So if you see me out, don’t come say hi.”
Followers were quick to call out the former reality star’s “energy” in the video.
“The energy of this post was off. Idk,” one person wrote.
“I am pretty private but let me post about my life!! Please,” a third follower added.
“As someone who’s watched every episode of Sister Wives since 2010 – I probably won’t scroll past. But your words & energy don’t match. Words: I’m private. Energy: see me,” yet another commented.
The negativity did not seem to affect Leon’s mood, however, as they captioned the post, “Don’t make it weird, yall. I’m liberal with the block button… being respectful takes nothing from you. I want to share and I will, but y’all better behave.”
