Mormon Wives’ Whitney Leavitt gets standing ovation after triumphant Broadway debut as favorite co-stars cheer her on
MORMON Wives star Whitney Leavitt sensationally got a standing ovation after her triumphant Broadway debut.
She even had some of her MomTok co-stars cheering her on – though a couple were completely absent from the celebrations.
Whitney, 32, shot to fame on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, but became a household name when she made it as a semi-finalist on Dancing with the Stars.
After her breakout success, she was signed up to play the role of Roxie in Chicago on Broadway.
In a previous interview with People, Whitney was asked if her MomTok pals would be in attendance on opening night.
“Yes!” she exclaimed.
“Most of them are going to be there opening night, so I’m excited to see them.”
Although many Mormon Wives turned out and showed up for Whitney, there were two stars of the hit reality show who seemingly snubbed it.
Demi Engemann was not there, and neither was Taylor Frankie Paul, it seems.
But Mikayla Matthews, Jessi Ngatikaura, Miranda McWhorter, Jen Affleck, and Mayci Neeley were all in attendance and cheering Whitney on.
According to People, after her debut performance, Whitney joined her husband and their Mormon Wives co-stars for an opening night afterparty.
The celebration is said to have taken place at the Glass House Tavern, with the bash taped for the upcoming series of Mormon Wives.
Whitney will be performing in Chicago for a limited run.
She will continue in Chicago from now through to March 15.
When she was on Dancing With the Stars in the last season, Whitney played homage to Chicago.
She and her professional partner Mark Ballas performed an Argentine Tango.
They performed the dance to Cell Block Tango, which is an iconic track from the show.
Last month Whitney spoke about how “surreal” working on Chicago is.
“It just feels surreal. That’s the best word I can think of — just surreal,” she told the outlet.
“I feel like everything that I’ve been manifesting feels more within reach. Like I can see it and it’s there and I’m reaching it and I’m going after it.
“I’m just so grateful,” she said.
