Good News: Meri Brown sends a bold message to her ex-boyfriend Kody using a Taylor Swift song. You’re going to love it.

Sister Wives star Meri Brown sent a direct message to her ex-husband, Kody Brown, with the help of Taylor Swift‘s blunt lyrics.

On Thursday, Aug. 21, TLC released the Season 20 trailer of Sister Wives, and many Swifties honed in on a clip featuring Meri and Kody.

“I’m not trying to make us back together in any way, Meri,” Kody told his ex, to whom he was married for 30 years.

To that, Meri boldly declared, “We are never, ever, ever getting back together.”

Swift fans immediately recognized the phrase as lyrics from Swift’s 2012 track “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”

In the comments of an Instagram post featuring the Season 20 trailer, fans expressed their love for Meri’s choice of words.

One viewer shared, “Not Mary quoting Taylor Swift 😂 We love to see it.”

Another wrote, “Not @therealmeribrown quoting Taylor Swift!!!! I’m here for it. 🧡❤️‍🔥.”

Someone else echoed, “If you have to sing it to him like Taylor swift did for him to get it, girl get a mic and a stage and do it😂.”

Meanwhile, yet another fan commented, “I’m here for the @taylorswift quote!”

On Reddit, another viewer pointed out, “Meri swiftied him.”

A different Redditor responded, “Lmao! When I saw that I was like, cool, Meri is a swiftie! :).”

Meri and Kody said “I do” in 1990. They legally divorced in 2014 so that Kody’s fourth wife, Robyn Brown, could legally marry him and adopt her three children from a previous marriage. More recently, however, Meri sought and received a spiritual divorce from their former church after her and Kody’s relationship completely deteriorated for many years.

Kody’s third wife, Christine Brown, also left him, in addition to his second wife, Janelle Brown. (And according to a different clip in the trailer, it looks like Janelle may have also sought a spiritual release from her marriage to Kody.)
