General Hospital Spoilers: The Truth Behind the Lies – Kirsten Storms Speaks Out
General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal fans voiced their worries for actress Kirsten Storms following the temporary casting of another actress as Maxie Jones.
This led to misleading headlines and rumors circulating online—Kirsten took to social media to address the situation and clarify the truth.
Kirsten Addressed The Exit Rumors And Set The Record Straight
Fans of GH were taken aback when Nicole Paggi stepped in as Maxie Jones on the soap recently; Kirsten Storms has been portraying Maxie since 2005.
Due to medical challenges faced by Kirsten Storms, the character of Maxie has been temporarily recast several times over the years. It has been announced that the most recent substitute is only temporary, and Kirsten Storms will be back in August.
However, her time on-screen will be brief before she steps away again. She recently took to social media to explain the reason behind her upcoming absence from the soap opera.
This Time, Her Leave Has Nothing To Do With Her Health
This time, her decision is unrelated to her health; she has chosen to leave Los Angeles and move to Tennessee with her daughter, Harper.
Harper’s father is Brandon Barash, Kirsten Storms’ ex-husband and former co-star-the actress mentioned that he is also relocating to Tennessee, but separately.
She requested time off from General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini for the move. Kirsten Storms disclosed that she has recently completed filming her last scene as Maxie Jones, at least for the time being. Additionally, she addressed the rumors surrounding her departure from the soap.
Kirsten’s Absence Is Temporary And There Won’t Be A Temporary Recast
She confirmed that the show will not be recasting her during her upcoming absence, and the storyline will take Maxie off-screen, although she did not provide further details.
Even though she reassured everyone that she still has the role of Maxie, some fans worried that the soap might recast it. Some fans drew parallels to the recasting of Michael Corinthos after actor Chad Duell departed from the show.
He announced in late 2024 that he was leaving the soap after almost fifteen years. Michael went to Germany for medical treatment after suffering serious burns-the character made a comeback in May with Rory Gibson taking over the role.
Kirsten’s And Chad’s Situations Are Totally Different
However, Kirsten Storms pointed out that the two situations are quite different-she requested a temporary leave, while Chad Duell decided to leave the show for good.
Before the recasting, Frank Valentini mentioned in an interview that Chad Duell could return, but Rory Gibson quickly gained the support of fans.
Kirsten Was Upset At A Fan’s Assumption
A fan commented on the Stone Cold and the Jackal Instagram account that Frank Valentini replaced Michael’s actor after assuring Chad Duell he could come back.
The fan expressed hope that the soap wouldn’t do the same to Kirsten Storms; this comment upset the actress, prompting her to respond sharply. “These kinds of comments really upset me-people think they know what goes on behind the scenes with GH actors just because they read some anonymous blog.
Then, somehow, Frank gets blamed for a made-up situation by someone not connected to GH,” she stated. Kirsten Storms continued, “No one at ABC took Chad’s job away – he chose not to continue when he decided not to renew his contract-I am still on contract”.
Be sure to catch up on everything happening with GH right now.
