‘Sister Wives’: Janelle Brown Has Receipts on Kody Brown Over Coyote Pass — and Fans Are Here for It

Sister Wives fans are here for the latest season of the TLC series, where Janelle Brown isn’t holding back on her feelings about her ex-husband Kody Brown, and her frustration over his behavior regarding their once-shared property.

During Sister Wives Season 20, Coyote Pass remains a major source of conflict between the members of the Brown family. Janelle and Meri Brown want the land split evenly and sold, while Kody and Robyn Brown refuse to let it go.

However, Janelle wasn’t afraid to fight back against Kody’s claims that he was doing all the work to rid the family of the land, which they had owned for almost seven years. She brought all the receipts to the table in a Facebook reel.

In a solo interview, Kody claimed he was expected to “do all the work, clean it up, get it sold and get the deeds swapped out. They haven’t done anything to help that.”

In response, Janelle said, “I’ve offered to help pay for people to help do the cleanup. I’ve offered to have my lawyer draw up the paperwork, so everybody just had to go in and sign it.”

She concluded, “I’ve done everything I can. I don’t have any legal ability to do the work, or I would have, trust me.”

Kody’s answer to Janelle’s statement? “All they’ve done is complain about me not doing it. Added to that complaint is, ‘Oh, is he trying to rob us?'”

Fans responded to the tense clip. “He means they didn’t do what he wanted to get it done for them,” claimed one viewer. A second wrote, “Seriously, he needs some cheese to go with all his whine!”

“He has been Robin them. Pun intended,” joked a third fan. A fourth noted, “He was hoping to wait them out like they would give up asking for their share or just forget that they had property to divide. This is probably the only ‘divorce’ settlement they’ll get.”

What happened to the Coyote Pass property?

The long battle over the Brown family’s shared Coyote Pass property came to an end in April 2025. PEOPLE Magazine reported that the final sale price was reportedly $1.5M.

Kody, Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn Brown purchased the property in 2018 for $820K according to Realtor.com. Their intent, after moving to Flagstaff, Arizona, was to build homes on the property for each of Kody’s wives.

However, by 2021, Christine left her polygamist marriage. She sold back her portion of the land to the family for $10 and severed herself of any financial connection to it.

Per Realtor.com, the Brown family reportedly made a profit of $680K on the land. The money was said to have been split four ways.

Janelle and Meri pushed to have the land sold so they could move on with their lives separately from Kody. Janelle left Kody in 2022 and Meri in 2023. Kody currently lives monogamously with Robyn, whom he married in 2014.

Season 20 of Sister Wives is currently airing footage that was filmed more than a year ago. That delay means fans are only now seeing the fallout from events that have long since unfolded offscreen.
