Leslie Gets the Mother of All Shocks- Is Paralyzed After a Tragic Accident!
Ashley is shocked when Derek is wheeled into the emergency room after having a biking accident. (Can we take a moment to be shallow and focus on just how hot Derek’s firefighting friend is?) Madison asks Derek where the pain is and he responds, “I can’t feel my legs!”
With Derek about to be wheeled into surgery, Ashley admits she loves him. Sure, she tried to move on, but failed. By episode’s end, Madison is informing Ashley that while the surgery went well, Derek may never walk again!
Leslie Is Barbara’s Daughter!
Although Leslie doesn’t want to listen, Peaches finally is given a chance to explain that the troublemaker’s mom was a young, talented singer whose life was cut short prematurely. It’s almost immediately obvious that she’s talking about Barbara, the original Articulette. Peaches says that Leslie’s mom never talked about who fathered her baby. (Anybody else thinking it’s Vernon?)
Admitting that Leslie’s mom never wanted children, Peaches says that’s why she wound up raising her. Peaches insists that Leslie’s mom loved her, but knew giving her up was the best move (much like the decision we heard June speak of yesterday). Although her name isn’t mentioned, it becomes clear Peaches is talking about Barbara, especially when she reveals that Leslie’s mom committed suicide. Sure enough, Peaches finally confirms what we pretty much knew: Barbara was Leslie’s birth mom! And because of that face, says Peaches, Leslie stands to inherit a small fortune!
Are Nicole and Ted Really Over?
As Nicole hosts a divorce party with guests Dani and Vanessa, Ted and Andre are drinking about their female problems. Dani raises a toast to Nicole’s next ex, whoever it might be. Meanwhile, Andre and Ted’s boozefest turns into a pity party. Andre wonders how things went so wrong so quickly with Ashley, while Ted — when not asking if there’s such a thing as a rational woman (woah!) — admits how much he misses everything about Nicole. Andre urges Ted to fight for the woman he loves, and Ted realizes maybe, just maybe, he still has a shot.
Anita’s About To Be Blindsided!
Tracy and Sharon, who are about to leave on their reunion tour, ask if Anita wants to join them. Anita says she can’t, but is glad that they were able to deal with the pain of the past and move into a bright new future. The women leave on tour, and Anita tells Vernon she can’t help wishing she’d reached out to Barbara’s family. Someone should have been in the audience to represent her the night of the concernt, she says, having no idea the shocking truth being revealed to Leslie at that very moment!
