Unknown: June tells Naomi how worried she is about meeting her kids and the shame they will surely feel. She thinks it’s better to break their hearts while she’s still a mystery than to see the look on their faces. Naomi stops her and says she has a plan.
Naomi begins to give June a manicure and asks what happened the night she called CPS. June says she went out for groceries and came back high. When she came back, “the girl” saw her and had such a scared look on her face. Naomi says she now calls herself Samantha. June knew the best decision she could make was a life without her in it. Naomi finishes up with the manicure and June thinks she actually looks like somebody’s mother.
Smitty and Martin’s Place: The family discusses June’s upcoming visit and how it won’t be easy, especially with the current state of their family. Samantha and Tyrell head upstairs leaving Smitty and Martin to discuss. Smitty is glad Martin is there to help him navigate these waters . Martin worries they could lose their kids, probably because he feels like he’s lost Smitty. Martin says he will bring it up in therapy which surprises Smitty. He says he wants to be a better man than the one he married. Smitty is impressed and takes Martin’s hand to declare a temporary truce.
Tyrell and Samantha are both scared about meeting June. They review the memories they have of her. Tyrell remembers how often they were left alone to watch after each other. Samantha is sympathetic to their birth mother’s drug problem, but Tyrell believes they were her problem as she loved drugs more.
June arrives with Naomi and she re-introduces them. June calls them by their original names but they provide their actual names. They all take a seat and June compliments their home. She can’t believe how much of their lives she has missed. They awkwardly move forward as June learns a bit about the kids. She tells Smitty and Martin what an amazing job they’ve done as parents and says giving them up was the hardest thing she ever did. That being said, this is the life she wanted for her children.
Samantha says they never wanted fancy things, only their mother. Tyrell jumps in saying they wanted love but she was always gone or locked in her room. Martin tries to calm his son but he continues saying thank God they were given parents who loved them. June gets on her knees (Oh Lord) and says how sorry she is. Tyrell isn’t hearing it saying they don’t have a mother. Samantha wonders if she ever even wondered what happened to them.
June tells them about losing the apartment and the continued drugs which led her to losing her memory. June pulls out the picture and says she kept it with her the entire time. Even though she didn’t remember, it was her everything. Naomi explains how she came to know Naomi and how they found the picture with a few of her things. They discuss Regina and the letter and how they all put the pieces together.
Tyrell disappears upstairs and Samantha follows. June thanks Smitty and Martin for allowing the meeting and Naomi takes her out. Afterwards, Martin thinks he should move back home.
Tyrell remembers the day their dad and pop adopted them. He knew everything was good as they would be safe and loved. They didn’t even know what safe was until they met their parents. Samantha says their family raised them to be the type of people June needs in her life right now.

Tomas gets up and says she’s a tough egg to crack but likes a challenge. He vows to figure out how to make things work and she says she’s game. Tomas tells her to prepare to be swept off her feet.
Chelsea returns home and Kat updates her on yet another failed sexual encounter (Not a bore in the bedroom!). She asks her cousin for help as she knows all kinds of relationship stuff. Chelsea wonders if she is asexual but Kat says she wants sex in her life. Kat worries she is sexually broken forever.
Uptown: Tomas walks in and runs into Eva. They chat about their evenings and Eva wonders why he’s there without Kat. Tomas says he has dance moves that can make folks scream but Eva says it’s awkward to learn new moves. Tomas is stunned by how easily Eva gets him.

She says she’s the one who has been berating her heartless, thankless, DAUGHTER with letters. The woman says she was the only mother Leslie ever had (ahhhhh!). She says something about Leslie seducing a man away from her to save her life. They take a seat and she tells PEACHES it’s good to see a familiar face as the folks in this town have been grinding her down. Peaches says she needed to see Leslie’s face one last time as she is dying.

Leslie is devastated and says Peaches is too young to go and she needs her. Peaches says she is tying up loose ends and Leslie is the biggest one. They hold hands and Peaches says it’s time she tells her who her mother is (WHO IS SHE????).
Anita and Vernon approach Nicole’s table. Anita wants a word with her daughter. Vernon hands Ted his divorce papers and tells him good night. Nicole thanks her parents for the rescue. As the screen splits four ways to the main storylines of the day, Anita says a parent’s instinct to protect is forever.
