“We are willing to stand for the protection of the weak and vulnerable in society, because of that stand we have been put in a situation that has cause [sic] the lose [sic] of our current housing situation and employment,” Paul Caldwell wrote on the GoFundMe page he created to raise funds for his family.

Caldwell also explained that “having to relocate on such short notice has left us in a bit of a financial struggle.”

He shared this update while thanking those who contributed to the more than $34,000 that has been raised to help the family.

Caldwell also made a point of stating in his update that “none of the funds from this fundraiser are going to help anyone who would harm children in any way.”

The family publicly voiced their support for the young girl accusing Joseph Duggar of sexual assault in a statement earlier this month.

The girl was, the family said, “courageous in every way to share her truth.” They also said they would “stand by her” and continue to support her as the case proceeds.

At the same time, they voiced their love and support for their daughter Kendra while denouncing her husband.

Kendra and Joseph spoke about the Caldwells moving out of one of their properties in jail phone calls obtained by PEOPLE.

In one call, Kendra said that if her family failed to move out by a specified date there were people who would “hold them to it.”

Kendra’s parents also expressed their love for their grandchildren, who their daughter recently reunited with after a judge lifted the no-contact order that had been filed after her arrest on March 20.

She — along with her husband Joseph — is still charged with four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.

Kendra and Joseph have both entered not guilty pleas and will make their next court appearance in that case in August.

Joseph, meanwhile, is also facing charges of lewd and lascivious behavior in an unrelated case out of Florida.

He is currently on pretrial release after posting bail in that case, but is not allowed any unsupervised contact with his four children or anyone else under the age of 18 as a condition of that pretrial release.

He has entered a plea of not guilty to those charges, which were filed after a 14-year-old girl told police that Joseph sexually assaulted her when she was just 9 during a family vacation.
